the MUST.tv site wants to be a self-organizing and self-governing network worthy of the trust of all participants.

If you want to have a say in how MUST works and serves its members, help us form a constitution! Below is the first draft of the MUST chaord. To understand what a Chaord is, goto http://www.chaordic.org and look at the chaordic design process in the activities tab.

Organisational Concept
We imagine different levels of MUST membership, perhaps something like:

Punter:
Watch. Tag. Blog. Network. Use resources allocated to punters, like the notice boards.
Share basic contact information with other members
Optional user profile with unverified footprint disclosure.
Votes, tags and reviews get included in the ‘General Audience’ profile.

Participant
The above, and
Work together with other members in groups.
‘Affiliate’ with peer networks.
Gets special preference on deals (like ads, discounts on products and services..)
Accrue ‘trust’ to add gravitas to your nominations and reviews.
Access the media pool, and resource pool.
Pay membership ‘donation’; based on footprint, with recommended ‘bands’.
Emissions disclosure required.

Peer
Votes, tags and nomintations get included as part of peer network profiles.
Participate in governance of MUST; vote in editorial reviews etc.
Has to embody the principle of sustainability as an organisation.
Membership of peer network(s) required.
Verified emissions disclosure required.

(there could be bronze, silver and gold members… where Gold is really hard to get – ie, transparent accounting, or major good guy status. This would create an automatic accreditation system.

Practices
• Present examples of sustainable practice, systems or technology.
• Tag, share, filter and generally add value to all information in order to understand and promote the most significant sustainable practices.
• Use any and all media to make sustainable systems intelligible and attractive.
• Broadly promote and distribute such media.
• Inspire, incentivise or assist that audience to integrate sustainable practice into their lives.
• Distribute human, financial and technological resources to assist in sustainable development.
• Channel money to sustainable projects and sponsor relevant media.
• Contribute data relevant to the purpose
• Use the data to forecast the future and predict the consequences of our actions.

I definitely think you should loose the “not Political” bit.

We want to new systems and a whole new world and that is certainly political! Trying to claim it is not is goes directly against “Truthful self-representation and Absolute transparency.”

At the very least change it to be “not party political” or something like Mondragon’s “Pluralism in politics. There is no identification with any political party or ideology. Individual members can freely express their views.”

Overall though I think this is a great start.
